Melissa Lynn Powers is a visual artist, educator and archivist who is interested in perceptions, intimacy, and unseeing.
She has been using fibers, glass and other materials to alter her images in an effort to change how those images are perceived.

After her father lost his vision and his legs to diabetes, she began to focus more intently on the things that are left when someone ceases to be what they once were. After his death, she now focuses on the things that grow in grief and love.

Currently living and learning in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
